Entry Information

$15 wristband provides access to all gardens and Guest Speaker.

Wristbands and maps are available at Greenparkes Nursery. Also available at Lions Park, next to Garden 1 on the day.

Guest Speaker Jenny Roberts from Dementia Australia will speak from 12.30 pm in Garden 3, and will be available for any questions after her talk.

Our Gardens

1 Nancy McColl

This garden is a plant person’s paradise, with just about every inch utilised with a wide range of plants. Nancy has travelled the world, acquiring knowledge and ideas along the way. Established exotic trees surround the house, making shade for her vast perennial collection as well as her favourite clematis.

2 Lorraine and Graham Hunt

This is a small acreage used for a self-sufficient lifestyle. This couple spend a lot of time tending their very extensive vegetable garden. You may also see some exotic plants mingling with the vegies. This vegie patch has to be seen to be believed. The couple also grow their own chickens, cattle, sheep and pigs. All produce is pickled, dried, preserved or frozen.

3 Ellie Hetherington

As well as having a lovely garden of her own, runs a small plant nursery where all proceeds go to Can Assist. All the propagation and potting are done by Ellie and a few dedicated volunteers. Can Assist will be providing a BBQ lunch in Ellie’s garden.

4 Fay and Kel Blackstock

A garden, museum and sculpture gallery all rolled into one ever-expanding garden. Surrounding the house is a lush shady area,
with an abundance of plants and paths to explore. The back gives way to a dryer space full of succulents and natives, with several structures and follies. There is an extensive collection of plants in this garden, exotics, succulents, salvias, grasses, climbers, roses and more. Sculptures that are created by the ‘second-in-charge’ will blow your mind as you contemplate what they might have been in a past life. Recycling is a passion of the couple, using all things rustic.
You will want to meander several times in this garden and still leave wondering if you missed anything.

5 Betty and Frank Guise

Recently relocated to town from a large sprawling garden to a much smaller one, these gardeners have managed to transfer many of their favourite plants. A lovely meandering cottage garden with lots of colour and variety.

6 Joyce and Lex Cole

This couple has retired to town and they now have quality time to spend in their garden and it certainly shows. A large variety of plants and a well-maintained garden. Joyce is a keen gardener with a wealth of knowledge.

7 Anne and John Carr

This garden is only 2 years old and a credit to the owners’ planning and expertise. They have chosen quality plants that will surely enhance the garden as they mature. The lawn is so well maintained it could be mistaken for a bowling green.
