Pink Up Parkes!
Towns throughout Australia will be turning pink this October and an enthusiastic group of locals is making sure Parkes joins them.
Pink Up Your Town is a fundraiser to help fund McGrath breast care nurses and raise awareness.
Funds raised will go directly to the McGrath Foundation, who also source additional funding from the government and other philanthropic organisations to support communities across Australia.
A committee was formed with Carolyn Rice as chairperson and Marg Applebee, on behalf of Central West Lachlan Landcare, as secretary.
The committee are encouraging community groups, businesses, clubs and individuals to turn their events pink this October during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Everyone is encouraged to ‘pink’ their business, ‘pink’ their events, ‘pink’ their office and even ‘pink’ their farm.
