We Want You Back in Parkes Shire

We are delighted by the news that regional travel will resume in NSW on 1 June 2020 and we are really looking forward to welcoming visitors back to the Parkes Shire!

The Parkes Region offers is the perfect destination to come and reconnect with loved ones and have a memorable and safe regional adventure. Explore our wide open spaces, iconic attractions, quirky experiences, engaging play spaces and fabulous local eateries and shopping outlets.

However, we do need to ensure that both our visitors and community are kept safe. We urge holidaymakers to please respect the NSW Health guidelines, stay home if you are sick, and practice good hygiene and social distancing.

Some of our iconic experiences and attractions are still on the road to re-opening, so please plan ahead by connecting with the Parkes Visitor Information Centre who can provide you with the latest updates for our region.

Rest assured that the local businesses currently operating are doing so under new protocols and are implementing COVID-19 control measures.

Meet Jim from Moo Ma's Milk Run

Jim is the owner and operator of Moo Ma’s Milk in Parkes, a well-known local business.

Jim says he loves finishing off the daily milk run at the Roasted Kombi Café with its great coffee, and then enjoying local adventures in his own Kombi with his family on the weekend.

His top tips are Memorial Hill's lookout and natural playground below, visiting The Dish - the largest single-dish radio telescope in the southern hemisphere - and enjoying a picnic under big open skies with fresh scones and Dish Cafe Jam.

Meet Sharon from the Henry Parkes Centre

The Parkes Visitor Information Centre is open for business ready to help you plan your adventure in the Parkes Region.

Connect with your friends and loved ones and invite them to explore your own back yard with all the great open spaces and recreational facilities Parkes Shire has to offer.

The Henry Parkes Centre museums are also open, don't forget our local loyalty program when you bring a visiting or relative, you as a local get in for free!
