Back to Peak Hill
Event Info
Back to Peak Hill!
The original home of the Wiradjuri people, gold mining was established in 1889 as well as the gazzetting of the town Peak Hill. Unlike most mining towns of boom and bust….we are very much still here.
A treasure in the Central West. The original 2 level unique buildings still stand proud in the main street. Amongst them the famous Carrington, burnt nearly to the ground, it is a monument to the spirit and determination of the town, to save it from demolition and celebrate its future. Peak Hill is looking forward to the future with fabulous education facilities from pre-school to high school, sporting facilities, pony club, Olympic swimming pool, famous sheep studs, Bogan Weir picnic grounds and the magic of the Goobang National Park, much of which is home to many endangered birds, animals, and plants.
