Be out there and be involved in the National Tree Day!
This year’s event in Parkes will be held at Akuna Road near the new Advanced Water Recycling Facility. The new plantings will connect remnant patches of vegetation in a Fuzzy Box woodland community. Fuzzy Box woodland is an endangered ecological community in NSW, so this is a wonderful opportunity to help with its recovery. It is estimated that only 5% of its original extent remains.
Parkes Shire Council and Central West Lachlan Landcare will be co-ordinating the day, including plant giveaways and a BBQ. Don’t forget your hat, sturdy shoes, sunscreen and some water.
