Each year on this day Australians observe one minute’s silence at 11am, in memory of those who died or suffered in all wars and armed conflicts.
The Returned and Services League of Australia, Parkes Sub Branch, will commemorate Remembrance Day on Monday, November 11, with a service at the Cenotaph in Cooke Park.
Remembrance Day Celebrations include speeches from Ray Knights, Parkes Mayor Ken Keith OAM & Deputy Prime Minister the Honourable Michael McCormack. Other celebrations include citation of the names of the fallen, wreath laying, ode, prayers of thanksgiving and Australian National Anthem.
