Sowing Cyber Seeds – Free Computer Courses for Parkes Shire Farmers
FREE computer courses for Farmers will be happening throughout September and October around the Shire.
The courses are aimed to provide Farmers around the Shire with new skills related to computers.
♦ The average age of Farmers in Parkes Shire (early 60’s) and many lack computer literacy skills which is vital for an ever increasing modernised world
♦ All Drought information, support and funding is available through online services
♦ Sourcing hay and fodder is becoming more difficult and online resources opens farmers up to more suppliers
♦ Increasing social and community connectedness through social media and providing a free day out for farmers with catering and light refreshments provided
♦ All farm business activities are now done using online services. If farmers fall behind regarding computer literacy it will become very difficult for them to manage and maintain their farming business
Farmers will receive:
♦ FREE tablet for eligible farmers – preference to farmer’s over the age of 50
♦ FREE course manual – hard copy
Catering and refreshments will be provided.
