Event Info

The NSW State Emergency Service (NSW SES) is lighting up CSIRO’s Parkes Radio Telescope orange, along with many other Australian icons, to show their support of NSW SES volunteers. Wear Orange Wednesday or WOW Day on 19th May is part of National Volunteer Week (17-23 May)

For this one-off event, the Parkes telescope will be lit up in orange from 7pm – 9pm. Come along and view the spectacular Dish turn orange. The Visitor’s Centre gates will be left open for the night, to allow those interested, to access the public area in front of the Visitors Centre for any photo opportunities.
