Be Welcomed in Peak Hill

Peak Hill, the town with a heart of gold is waiting to be explored. There are treasures waiting to be found in the quaint and leafy main street and the many antique stores and galleries. The open cut gold mine is right on the edge of town and features walking trails through the bush leading to spectacular views of the five open cut pits which are sure to take your breath away.

Located on the Newell Highway, 48km north of Parkes and 70km south of Dubbo, Peak Hill offers visitors an affordable alternate stop over to visit The Dish, Goobang National Park or the Western Plain Zoo in Dubbo.  Nestled close to the Hervey Ranges, Peak Hill's proud history is indelibly linked with the discovery of gold in 1889. Like many western centres, Peak Hill has endeavoured to preserve a proud and colourful history.
